About this service

Pet Prosthetics & Pet Braces

Animal patients deserve the same quality of fitting work as human patients, and we treat them that way. Our pet prosthetic and orthotic work follows the same in-house design and fabrication process as our human cases, scaled to animal anatomy.

Most pet fittings come to us through veterinary referrals. We work with your veterinarian to evaluate the case, take measurements (or coordinate a casting), design the device, and fit it. Ongoing adjustments are part of the service.

We’ve fit dogs (most common), cats, and the occasional unusual case (small horses, goats, a parrot). Every patient is a one-off; every design starts from the specific animal.

How it works

Our fitting process.

01

Veterinary referral

Most cases come through a vet, if not, we’ll coordinate one for clinical guidance.

02

Evaluation & casting

In-clinic or in-coordination-with-vet evaluation, measurements, and casting.

03

Design & fabrication

Built in our lab to the specific animal’s anatomy and use case.

04

Fitting & follow-up

Initial fit, owner training on donning/doffing, and follow-up adjustments.

Technology & materials

Why our fittings work.

Animal patients can’t describe what doesn’t feel right, so fit verification depends on observation of gait, behavior, and any skin response. We over-engineer comfort and durability for pets, since their devices take hard wear.

Frequently asked

Common questions about pet prosthetics & pet braces.

How much does a pet prosthetic cost?
Pet device costs vary widely depending on the animal, the complexity, and the materials. We’ll quote your specific case during the consultation. Pet insurance occasionally covers prosthetic work; most cases are self-pay.
Will my dog actually use a prosthetic?
Most dogs adapt remarkably well, especially with patient introduction and your vet’s coordination. Adaptation time varies; some dogs use the device within minutes, others take weeks. We’ll set realistic expectations during consultation.
Do I need a veterinary referral?
We strongly prefer veterinary involvement, even simple cases benefit from your vet’s clinical guidance. If you don’t have a vet relationship already, we can recommend one in the Tampa area.
Can you fit other animals besides dogs and cats?
Yes, occasionally. We’ve fit small horses, goats, and once a parrot. Each case is a custom one-off, we’ll discuss feasibility on a case-by-case basis.

“Our shepherd lost his front leg to cancer. The brace Manifest built him gave him eight more good years of running on the beach. Words don't cover it.”
