About this service

Custom Orthotics

Orthotics work when they support the right motion at the right time and stay out of the way otherwise. Off-the-shelf braces are designed for an average that few patients actually are. We fabricate every orthosis to the specific patient’s anatomy and goals.

Our orthotic work spans the full range, ankle-foot orthoses for foot drop and gait dysfunction, knee-ankle-foot orthoses for more complex lower-limb support, spinal orthoses for scoliosis and post-surgical recovery, and cranial helmets for plagiocephaly correction.

Each fitting starts with a clinical evaluation, often coordinated with the patient’s referring physician or therapist. We’re here to support a treatment plan, not invent one.

Featured: Spinal bracing

Spinal orthoses for scoliosis & post-surgical support.

Custom-fabricated thoracolumbosacral (TLSO) and lumbosacral (LSO) orthoses for two common patient groups: adolescents managing scoliosis under physician care, and adults recovering from spinal fusion or other procedures requiring stabilization.

For scoliosis patients, we use Boston-style designs and other proven brace patterns chosen by the referring physician. We coordinate growth check-ins every 3–6 months during active treatment and adjust the brace as the curve and the patient evolve. For post-surgical patients, we work directly with the surgical team to ensure the orthosis matches the recovery protocol.

  • TLSO & LSO designs for adult and pediatric patients
  • Boston-style scoliosis bracing with physician coordination
  • Post-surgical fusion stabilization
  • Growth-cycle refits for active scoliosis treatment

Technology & materials

Why our fittings work.

We work in carbon fiber, thermoplastics, leather, and combinations, chosen for the specific stiffness, weight, and longevity needs. CAD/CAM design from digital scans speeds fabrication and improves accuracy over manual layup.

Frequently asked

Common questions about custom orthotics.

How long does a custom AFO take?
Typically 2–3 weeks from scan to delivery. Same-day adjustments at fitting are routine. Most patients return for one or two follow-up visits to dial in comfort.
Does insurance cover orthotic bracing?
Most plans cover medically necessary orthoses with a physician referral. We file pre-authorizations and handle documentation. Cosmetic or non-medical use of orthoses generally is not covered.
How often do scoliosis braces need adjustment?
Adolescent scoliosis patients typically check in every 3–6 months during active growth. Brace modifications, additions, or replacement are scheduled around growth and curve progression.
Do you offer cranial helmet therapy?
Yes. Plagiocephaly correction helmets are fit for infants typically 3–12 months old, with regular check-ins to track head shape correction and adjust as the child grows.
